2. Visiting the website and server logs
With every visit, the web server automatically records technical data: IP address, date and time of the request, the page visited, the referring page and the browser type. We need this data to secure and operate the website (legitimate interest, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) and usually delete it within 14 days.
Fonts and all other parts of the website are loaded exclusively from our own server – no connection to third parties (e.g. Google Fonts) is established when you visit.
3. Cookies
We only use technically necessary cookies (Section 25(2) TDDDG): “softshop” stores the contents of your cart during your visit and expires when you close the browser; “lang” remembers the selected website language (12 months). We do not use analytics, marketing or tracking cookies.
4. Orders
When you place an order, we process your name, e-mail address, where applicable company name and address, and order and payment data. We need this data to conclude and perform the contract – delivering the license key, communication and handling complaints (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) – and to comply with legal obligations (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR). We keep the data for the period required by commercial and tax law (usually 8 to 10 years); other data is deleted once the order has been completed and warranty periods have expired.
5. Payments
We do not process card details or PayPal login data – payments are processed directly by the payment service provider, to whom we only pass the data needed for the payment (amount, order number, possibly e-mail):
- PayPal (Europe) S.à r.l. et Cie, S.C.A., Luxembourg
6. Other recipients
- Hosting: DigitalOcean, LLC, New York, USA – operation of the server running the shop.
- E-mails: Sendinblue SAS (Brevo), Paris, France – sending order confirmations and license keys.
- Tax advisor / accountant to the extent necessary for bookkeeping.
We have concluded data processing agreements with all processors (Art. 28 GDPR). Transfers to the USA are protected by the EU Standard Contractual Clauses or the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
7. Your rights
You have the right of access to your data (Art. 15), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and the right to object to processing based on legitimate interest (Art. 21 GDPR). Simply write to us at buysoftwarelicense@gmail.com.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority – in particular in the member state of your residence or where the seller is established. The authority responsible for the seller is Der Hamburgische Beauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit (Hamburg, Germany).
8. Automated decision-making
We do not carry out automated decision-making or profiling.
